Arflex
Arflex is an Italian furniture brand founded in 1948 in Milan by a group of Pirelli technicians – Aldo Bai, Pio Reggiani, and Aldo Barassi. From the beginning, it focused on the innovative use of new materials such as foam rubber and elastic straps, collaborating with architect Marco Zanuso. Their first joint product, the Lady armchair, won the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1951. Over the decades, Arflex has collaborated with many prominent designers, including Cini Boeri, Franco Albini, Joe Colombo, and Ettore Sottsass. Iconic products include the modular Strips sofa by Cini Boeri from 1972, which won the Compasso d'Oro award and remains in production. Arflex products are part of the collections of prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Triennale di Milano. Since 1995, Arflex has been part of the Seven Salotti group. Today, the brand continues its tradition of combining craftsmanship, innovative design, and timeless aesthetics, maintaining its position among the leading names in Italian modern furniture.
